Phnom Penh, March 7, 2024: In a bid to bolster Cambodia's legal sector, Mr. Em Chan Makara, Secretary of State for the Ministry of Justice, urged development partners and representatives from the Australian Embassy to explore avenues for support. This call to action transpired during a gathering graced by senior government officials from various ministries, institutions, and development partners closely affiliated with the United Nations Development Program in Cambodia (UNDP). The prestigious event unfolded at the Hyatt Regency Phnom Penh on Thursday evening.

Responding to Mr. Makara's appeal, Alissar Chaker, Country Representative of UNDP, and Andreas Zurbrugg, representatives from the Australian Embassy, expressed keen interest in evaluating the proposed project. The banquet served as a platform to foster stronger collaboration between UNDP and Cambodia, aligning with the mission of Mr. Christophe Bahuet, Deputy Regional Director of UNDP, who was on a visit to Cambodia.

Dignitaries gracing the occasion included Ms. Ing Kantha Phavi, Minister of Women's Affairs, and Mr. Sok Puthivuth, Secretary of State for the Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications.
